Month in every number
The default pattern INV-{MON}-{NUM} gives numbers like INV-SEP-001, so you can see when an invoice was issued at a glance.
Your own pattern
Use the month, the year and a running number in any order, for example 2026/09/001.
Change any number
Type a number straight onto an invoice. Duplicates are blocked and the sequence carries on from there.
Questions people ask
Do invoice numbers have to be sequential?
In most countries, including the UK, EU member states, Australia and India, each invoice needs a unique number in a continuous sequence. A pattern like INV-SEP-001, INV-SEP-002 meets that.
Can I restart my numbering?
You can set the next number in Settings. Pigee blocks duplicates, so an existing number cannot be reused.
